I have a tenant who is part way through her tenancy. She was working and paying her part of the rent. However she has now lost her job and has not paid her rent for one month. I have just received a claim form for housing benefit - I do not accept tenants on benefit. Is there anything I can do or do I have to accept it as she is already a tenant? Can I issue her with a Section 8 once she is two months in arrears as she only pays half the rent, it is a joint tenancy but the other tenant is paying?
