I HAVE A DEED OF GUARANTEE FROM SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL SUPPORTING AN
A.S.T . THE TENANT LEFT MY PROPERTY UNANNOUNCED AND LEAVING UNPAID RENT. I HAVE ISSUED A CLAIM DIRECT TO SURREY COUNCIL CLAIMING ALL COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE UNANNOUNCED DEPARTURE ,REMARKETING OF THE PROPERTY AND SECURING A NEW TENANT. I SUBMITTED THE CLAIM TWO MONTHS AGO BUT DESPITE NUMEROUS CHASING LETTERS AND EMAILS I HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THEM. I AM THEREFORE INTENDING TO SUBMIT A CLAIM TO THE SMALL CLAIMS COURT HOWEVER I HAVE READ THE PROCEDURE AND IT STATES THAT IT CANNOT BE USED AGAINST A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT. DOES SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL CONSTITUTE A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT AND IF SO WHAT ALTERNATIVE COURCES OF ACTION DO I HAVE IN AN ATTEMPT TO RECOVER THE COSTS INCURRED.
