I have the usual rent arrears from two separate tenants, both in excess of 8 weeks.

Another tenant has confirmed to me seeing council benefit-type envelopes being received for both of them (though not necessarily rent benefits).

They have both denied receiving any benefits.

Is it possible to make the council confirm to me whether they are receiving rent benefit, if in fact they are?

When the original ASTs were signed, both tenants signed forms to confirm they would inform me of receiving rent benefit.
