housing benefits paid direct to tenant

I have been receiving housing benefits direct. the tenant has now been in the property for 6 months and the benefits want to start paying the tenant direct. the tenant does not want to receive the money direct, how can we get them to continue to pay us directly without having to put the tenant too much out of his way.
