Q1. How much notice to leave the premises do I have to give a tenant who has been on a rolling month by month tenancy (the original 6 month agreement was not renewed but just allowed to roll over). The tenant had informed me that she wanted to retain occupancy till november which I had verbally agreed to.

Q2. I am looking into buying a flat outright with the intention of leasing it out. However, the building itself is owned by Places for People - a housing association. Many of the flats are privately owned and I know that some have been let out by private landlords. However, Places for People insist that private owners are not allowed to rent out their properties. Are they legally allowed to dictate this or are they trying to pass off what is in effect company policy as enshrined in law?

Thanks
