Tenants objects to works being done during their tenancy

I want to replace the existing windows with new Double glazing ones in my tenanted property. However, the tenants do not want me to do so whilst they are living there. Do I need to abide by their request, or can I still instruct the works to go ahead, provided I give them reasonable notice? Also, what would be 'reasonable notice'? Grateful for feedback.
