Hi,

I evicted a tenant in May this year. He was a criminal and this has subsequently caused problems for the new tenant.

The new tenant wants to move out because he has been visited by doorstep collectors for the previous tenant's debts.

The debts are for utilities, bank charges, and credit cards. I am planning to contact the relevant agencies to advise them that the previous tenant is no longer living there, and to stop sending debt collectors to the property.

If I do this, is there any possibility that the debt agencies will try and chase me to recoup the debts? I don't want to open this up of course.

But I also don't want my tenants to be hassled. Please advise.

Thanks
