I have held a policy with HOMSERVE for 7 years. I thought this was a very comprehensive policy including breakdown and leakage of the boiler and heating system. I have tried making a claim today 19/3/2013 and was informed at 9am at that I was covered and awaited a call from the heating engineer which would be within 1 hour
I called repeatedly all day and was told I should expect a call in 1 hour Eventually I received a call about 4pm. The heating engineer stated he had only been informed of the claim 5 minutes prior
At 5 pm received a call from Homeserve stating the policy does not cover non vented heating systems
I advise everone with these policies to carefully check the wording. In fairness to Homeserve I have carefully read the policy and the wording on the policy does state that I was not covered
But the way they dealt with the claim was extremely unprofessional. I have now cancelled my Direct Debit. My advice to all Landlords Read all the exclusions very carefully
