Early Exit from a Tenancy

Some context first; we have recently sold our house and moved into rented accomodation whilst the purchase of out new house completes. We are in a six month agreement due to end July. The purchase of the new house has recently moved quickly and we are nearly due to exchange. We therefore need to get out of the 6 month contract, ideally without any cost. Is there anyway of doing this / can we legally end the contract earlier?

Any guidance / advise would be much appreciated...
