Whilst trying to improve my addendum to AST room ,I am wondering about contents insurance for tenants.
On my addendum I highly recommend they take out contents insurance as I would like them to be able to pay for any damages they cause.
I have expensive to replace items in the individual rooms like meters for paying individually for gas/elec as well as fridge/freezers and cookers.
I am not planning on carrying on with the farcical deposit schemes with confusing rules and can't rely on more than a small admin fee.

Can I force the tenants to take out contents/liability insurance,or can I just highly recommend it?
Been thinking about this for ages so answers welcomed please
