Hello

I rented my property to a family member and I did not secure the deposit in a bond. I have now terminated the rolling month by month contract because I want to sell and they have refused to leave. They have sought advice from the council. The council rang me and asked have I had the deposit in a bond I refused to answer as I did not know. Since the conversation I realise I should have secured the deposit I have now done this and intend to send the certificate to the tenant. I will then service notice again quoting whatever act I forgot to mention when I served the original notice (I am taking advice on this) the question is - on the bond cert the registered date is today. Can I send the cert with confidence to the tenant knowing I am not setting myself up.

Please can you help.

Thank you.

David
