I have been advised by Nottingham City Council that I am liable for council tax for a period where I let to tenants who refused to pay council tax. Despite sending the Council the tenancy agreements stipulating that the tenants were liable for council tax, the Council has stated that since the property is a HIMO, the landlord is still liable for council tax. I wanted to know the facts before contesting the issue. They have also sent bailiffs to my home address and not the risk address despite me sending them a letter protesting this. I look forward to your response. Thanks
