Tenant current on a statutory periodic tenancy and I wish to update my tenant's tenancy agreement but what happens with the deposit? I have put the rent up since the original tenancy agreement and the deposit will not now match one month's rent. Am I ok to keep the same amount as deposit for the new tenancy, ie no need to ask my tenant for any more deposit? (for the sake of £25.00 it is probably not worth the hassle.) Also, do I simply unprotect the deposit and then re protect it? How does this work?
