I have decided to rent my property to my adult brothers on a short let tenancy. Both of my brothers applied to Ealing Council for housing benefit and yet yet received an answer for over 6 months.



My brothers have asked the council prior to renting from me if they could rent a family members property and the council officer then said yes.



Can you please tell me what are the time scales that the council/housing benefit office have to respond to claimants?

Can a landlord rent a property to a relative i,e toa brother, sister, cousin...etc?



What would you advise me to do in my situation?
