We refer to our previous enquiry when you advised that it was the landlord's responsibility to repair the front door albeit the damage was done by forced entry by Police who were concerned about tenants welfare. A new lock has been fitted to the existing front door which is now secure. Estimates to replace the door are in the region of £1500-£1700. The landlord advises that they do not have funds available to have the door replaced at this present time. What is the legal position if the landlord is not able to carry out works in the foreseeable future
