Possession - Section 8 and Section 21

Hi
I served Section 21(1) to one of my tenants at the beginning of the tenancy but I am not sure if I used the correct date;

Tenancy start date: 01 Sept 2014
Section 21(1) date: 01 Nov 2014

Can I evict the tenant on the 01st Nov 2014 ?
